• Look what just arrived…

  • I wish there were a second edition of “Linkers & Loaders” by John Levine that covered all the stuff updated in ELF since 2000 and also Mach-O.

  • Open Source Hardware question: Is there a decent open USB to GPIB or network (eg SSH) to GPIB adapter available? Maybe a GPIB “hat” for Raspberry Pi? I have a few boards for older systems, but anything for modern systems looks spendy and unusable on my preferred OSes.

  • Motorola 88000 documentation!

  • Imagine: Infocom’s “Untitled Goose Game” for Apple IIc, IIe, and 64K Apple II+.

  • ¡Podling justitsa!

  • D’Anna just watched the whole second episode of “The Dark Crystal” with us. That expression…

  • Hello there, OpenVMS 7.1! This is a DEC 3000 Model 400 AXP workstation with a 133MHz Alpha 21064 CPU and 128MB RAM—quite a lot for 1993!

  • So, since there isn’t yet any sort of (say) monthly retrocomputing meetup in the SF Bay Area, anyone want to start one?

  • Success! Booted the VXT2000 (mislabeled as a DECimage 2000) from the InfoServer 150VXT beneath it, which is using the SCSI2SD in the little MicroNet SCSI case for storage and the VT520 for console. I also opened a local DECterm window to the InfoServer on the VXT!

  • I’ve used a VMS-style command line for maybe an hour total, and I don’t understand why all command lines don’t work this way.

  • I’m quite happy that DEC freely released the InfoServer V3.5 and VXT2.1 software when it was EOL so I can actually use my InfoServer to boot an X terminal and serve up disk.

  • Hello, DECserver 90M terminal server!

  • ‪Are there really no regular Bay Area retrocomputing meetups?!
